Chien-Ming Wang,  RHP  (6-4,  3.49)

Chien-Ming Wang is making his first career start against the Mets tonight and has been nothing less than outstanding in his last 6 starts (5-1, 2.30).  El Duque has pitched extremely well this season in his own right, but has encountered some bad luck against the Yankees (0-3, 4.26 in 3 starts) during his career.

It almost doesn't seem fair that the Yanks play the Mets this weekend while the Red Sox played and swept the dismal San Francisco Giants.  Never fear, folks.  The odds will even out a bit this week with the Yankees facing the Rockies and Giants while the Red Sox travel cross-country to play the Braves and Padres.

Both Seattle and Oakland have already lost today, so it would be really sweet to take 2 of the 3 games this weekend against the Mets and gain some ground on two teams they are chasing in the Wildcard standings at the same time.
