Johnny Damon is back in the lineup this afternoon after missing last night's game with a mild abdominal strain.

Tyler Clippard may be pitching to keep his job in the rotation because it is increasingly likely that Kei Igawa will be coming back to the big club fairly soon after three good outings down at Triple-A Scranton.

In Clippard's five starts, he has been a completely different pitcher on the road (3-0, 2.81) than at the Stadium (0-1, 10.57).  Also, left-handers are hitting .196 against him while right-handers are hitting .326.

Opposing Clippard is future Hall of Famer Tom Glavine, who has had good success against the Yankees during his career (5-2, 3.79 in 9 starts) -- including a victory on May 19th at Shea.

The featured graphic for today's game is the road jersey logo used by the New York Mets during the 1980s.  Unfortunately, this is one of a handful of logos where I couldn't find the specific timeframe it was used by the team.  Shame on me.  Think of the '86 Mets in their road grays.
