This team is rolling right now with a 5-game winning streak and they are 8-2 in their last 10 games. Suddenly, this season has gotten much more interesting with the return of Clemens and the offense scoring a lot of runs.
The Yanks go for the sweep today with Tyler Clippard on the mound countering our old pal Shawn Chacon. It shouldn't be too difficult to take pitches from Chacon because he only averages about 5 innings per start. The Pirates' bullpen is a disaster, so the earlier they can get into that pen the better.
After a few days off, the PA oddsmakers have returned and set the over/under on Clippard's walk total at 3.
The featured graphic for today's game is an alternate logo currently used by the Pittsburgh Pirates. In my opinion, one of the coolest logos in MLB right now.
As you may have already noticed, I have added the AL Wildcard standings since that appears to be the Yanks' most realistic shot at the postseason. In addition, I have also added the PCT column to both standings. There's only so much room on those sidebars, so I had to use abbreviated team names to squeeze everything in.
