Take the Train to the Game

Getting to games will be a whole lot more convenient, especially if you live upstate. Metro- North is building a new station servicing Yankee Stadium.

The new station will be south of the Morris Heights station on the Metro-North Hudson line, about six blocks from the new Yankee Stadium, which also is scheduled to open in 2009

Although the new station will not provide a direct link to the subway system, Metro-North shuttles will run on game days from the new station to 125th Street and Grand Central Terminal.

Having grown up a hop skip and a jump from the Stadium, my family never needed to drive. I knew what a nightmare the traffic was during gamedays though and I wouldn't wish being caught up in that snarl on my worst enemy...OK, maybe I would. Hopefully this stop will alleviate some of that pressure.
