Derek Jeter responded to ARod's press conference to the media today. He says there is no problem and that all anybody on the Yankee team wants to do is win. We all know that Jeter and ARod's relationship changed after the article came out and Alex said:
Jeter's been blessed with great talent around him," Alex says. "He's never had to lead. He can just go and play and have fun. And he hits second--that's totally different than third and fourth in a lineup. You go into New York, you wanna stop Bernie and O'Neill. You never say, Don't let Derek beat you. He's never your concern.
Jeter is always very careful when he speaks to the media and I wish he opened up a little more. All this will go away if ARod hits in the post season, or if the Yanks win a World series ring...Teammates don't have to get along to be successful. I hope this is the last we hear about this for a long time, but I doubt it. One of the reasons I wanted ARod traded was so we wouldn't have to hear game in and game out "What's up with ARod?" from the media. I think if Alex has a good year offensively and defensively, it'll quiet this down some, but in the end----October is was counts. I hope the Yankee fan doesn't boo him like mad because at this point it it effects the way he plays. Saddle up for another year of Yankee baseball.
