First off, I don't get why the injured and overmatched Matsui is back in the lineup and hitting behind A-Rod, thus guaranteeing Carmona will not give the AL MVP anything good to hit.  Giambi should be the DH, but what do I know.

Pettitte has not had a ton of success over the years against the Tribe (6-7, 4.50 in 16 starts) but did pitch well in his lone start against them on (1-0, 2.45).

As you may recall, the Yanks have faced Carmona twice this season (0-1, 4.15) and knocked him around pretty good at The Jake on 8/10.  Let's hope he has similar problems keeping his sinker down as Wang did last night.

Pete Abraham reports that long-time public address announcer Bob Sheppard will miss the ALDS due to a bronchial infection.  Needless to say, Yankee Stadium is just not the same without him.
