The Bronx Hosts 2008 All Star Game

Slated for destruction in 2009, the current iteration of Yankee Stadium will get its last hurrah as the site for the 2008 All Star Game. I think it's a perfect way (besides hosting a World Series) to honor all the memories that exist in the "House That Ruth Built". "The House That George Built" will probably have to wait for some time to be home to another All Star game. Usually new stadiums host the game not too long after they are built, usually as a sop to the franchises that plunked down the dough to build it. There will be no such sympathies here. Hopefully the national viewing audience will get their fill of the new Yankee Stadium every October instead of a single July.
