The Past, Present, and Future

CNNSI has posted two articles about the Yankees today. One by Jon Heyman on the post career plans of Bernie Williams and the present troubles of Carl "Mr. Glass" Pavano, and the other from Bronx Banter's Alex Belth about the rebuilding-while-winning process that seems to be fairly succesful at this point.

I'm quite excited about Tabata and Hughes, both players management refused to part with during trade talks this July. Steinbrenner's relentless desire to win and deep pockets as well as competent management and scouting seems to have created a perpetual victory machine matched only by the Atlanta Braves.
