Karstens gets the start tonight

Jeff Karstens didn't have to open his mouth to let you know what he was feeling.
The 23-year-old right-hander was informed yesterday by manager Joe Torre and pitching coach Ron Guidry that he will make his major-league debut tonight as a starter against the Mariners in Seattle.--- Karstens was 5-5 with a 4.28 ERA in 14 starts for Columbus and 6-0 with a 2.31 ERA for Double-A Trenton in 11 Starts.

Let's hope Mussina's injury heals up fast although it has been lingering for some time. Karstens would have started instead of Ponson if Joe trusted the youngster in Fenway.
