Quick Notes:
I love Melky. This kid is in the middle of everything and shows no fear. He's born for NY. His power will increase as he gets older and the hustle he brings you can't teach. That was maybe the one thing that Soriano lacked when he was here.
As I said earlier, get to the Orioles pen. Bedard had electric stuff.
Abreu is perfect for the Yanks. His arm is a little better than I thought it was even though he won't be banging into any walls anytime soon.
Damon is a clutch player and was a smart pick up. His 2 run blast ties it at 3-3, and then slashes a triple off of a very bad Hawkins for some extra breathing room. The word injury is not in his makeup.
"Rod" Cano gets the game winning hit with his typical opposite field double.
Mussina was very good. I loved the fact that he used his fastball much more than any other start that I can remember and it had some pop.
Proctor and Villone have made this pen very formidable now. Getting out of that bases loaded jam in the seventh was the difference.
I'm not talking about A-Rod.
Larry Bowa was a riot running down the line following Melky.
Rivera was Rivera.
