The Yanks have been trying to pry Triple-A first baseman Ryan Shealy away from the Rockies since spring training. The problem is many AL teams are expressing some interest, including Boston. The expectation is Shealy, trapped behind Todd Helton, will be dealt before the deadline in a prospect-for-prospect exchange. Colorado is not asking for top Yankees prospects Philip Hughes or Jose Tabata. Righty- hitting Shealy, who turns 27 next month, was batting .284 at Triple-A with 15 homers in 58 games.

How rare is it to hear that the Yanks are interested in a minor leaguer?
