If Carl Pavano doesn't suffer a setback before Sunday he will start for Tampa (Single-A).
According to Cashman, Pavano was encouraged about a five-inning outing in an extended spring game yesterday in Tampa. He threw 58 pitches, allowed two hits, an unearned run, fanned three and didn't issue a walk.
Once Pavano pitches in a minor-league game, the 30-day clock on a rehab assignment begins.
If the Yanks want to make me happy, they'll trade Jaret Wright somehow, (I'm sure they'll be takers in the NL if we eat some of his contract) and dump Sturtze. Then Cashman can look for another starter if he chooses not to use Aaron Small in that role.
