Jaret Wright vs ex-Yank Brad Halsey
I'm still trying to figure out why Joe used Mariano for the third consecutive day when Wang was unhittable and had one of those pitch counts you rarely see anymore. He's burned for today so Farnsworth is probably the closer.
The Athletics Nation writes a review of last night's game from Oakland's perspective.
I missed most of the game last night so here's Michael Morrissey's account:
A dominant Wang scattered three hits over eight innings to an Oakland lineup missing Eric Chavez, Frank Thomas, Jason Kendall and Milton Bradley. And when the Taiwanese right-hander actually allowed baserunners, he erased most of them on double-play grounders. Wang served up four twin killings, facing just one batter over the minimum and throwing only 85 pitches.
