I have a lot of fun with one of my best friends who is a huge A's fan about both teams. In all honesty, I don't like the make up of this team. Last night was indicative of what has been going on the last couple of years. They will get hot and win about 95 games and probably get into the playoffs, but really, they scored two runs on fourteen walks! That hasn't happened for over fifty years. I'll keep saying it and saying it and saying it.
Until Shefield, A-Rod and Matsui (who was dreadful last night) can get the kind of at bats that help us win games, we will die in the playoffs again. You know the kind I'm talking about. A single, a ground ball to second base to move the runner to third. A sacrifice fly with a man on third and one out. Until they do that we will be disappointed again and again. I know last night was one game and it's early in the season, but why does it feel exactly like last year to me?
