My fears are calmed for the time being. Randy went eight strong innings giving up only four hits (all to Tejada), as he handcuffed the O's 7-1 this afternoon. Fueled by Jason Giambi's two hr's and five rbi's, the Yanks took the series two games to one and upped their record to 9-8.
Randy shook off his last horrid performance and surprisingly had Posada behind the plate (Torre kills another myth) for his third win of the season. I was worried that Johnson really was having back problems after going only eight innings in his last two starts, but he pitched a dominant game as Baltimore fizzled in their attempts to mount any kind of offense. The Yanks will now prepare for the pesky Tampa Bayites.
These are the types of games we need to have consistently so that we might actually be able to microwave some poocorn, sit down in front of our TV's and enjoy the season-instead of whining about the way the team is capable of playing.
