There have been so many, but the one that stands out for me is in 1976. Chris Chambliss hits a lead off solo HR in the bottom of the ninth that vaulted the Yankees back in the World Series for the first time since 1964. When I started watching baseball in 1967, the Yanks finished the season in ninth place with a 72-90 record. Ruben Amaro was the third baseman and Horace Clarke lead the team in batting with a .271 average.
