With many players involved in the WBC, the youngsters are off and running. So far so good.

On the move: Thompson, who represented the Yankees in the Futures Game during last summer's All-Star festivities, is off to a scorching start this spring. Thompson has seven hits in his first 11 at-bats, a .636 clip. Thompson has scored three runs and driven in one in New York's first four games.

Duncan was 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in the Yankees' first four exhibition games.

Hughes also made his first official appearance of the spring on Sunday, earning the win in the Yankees' 3-2 win over the Blue Jays. Hughes allowed one run in 1 1/3 innings.

Cabrera, who had an unsuccessful tryout with the Yankees last July, has gotten off to a fast start. In four games, the young center fielder is hitting .538, with seven hits in 13 at-bats. Cabrera has two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs.
