"Obviously, if Roger Clemens decides to play, we'll take a look at him, without question," Cashman said. "What that means, I don't know. Roger was a great Yankee before. He had a tremendous impact on us then. He's got a great place in our history. It doesn't mean history can't continue to be written."
I know Jamie doesn't want Roger, but I'd take him back in a heart beat. Pitching wins championships and Roger can still throw the ball and get people out. Who really feels secure with the health and age of our rotation? Not me that's for sure. He had a 1.87 era last season. It doesn't matter if it was in the NL. His splitter is moving and guys are still missing. He pitched over 200 innings for the third consecutive year and had 180 punch outs. You know we'll need him if he comes to the Bronx and if he returns to the bigs do we really want to have to face him in a must win game?
