Shawn Chacon agreed to a one year, 3.6 million dollar contract. That's a steal anyway you look at it. He was 7-3 with a 2.85 era in 14 games and helped pave the way for another divisional win. I know the season ended horribly, but Chacon was a huge acquisition for Brian Cashman. He proved that pitching in the Bronx was a piece of cake for this right hander and I look for him to continue his fine pitching ways.

Jeff Weaver he is not! Sorry, I didn't mean to put a damper on this signing-mentioning Weaver in the same post as a guy who didn't fall apart when he put on the pinstripes. That's what is always the kicker with the Yanks that other teams don't have to contend with. How will they perform once they get here. Weaver was a bum plain and simple.
