Texas is looking at Zito hard.
The Rangers are making a major push for free-agent left-hander Barry Zito, major league sources say, and continue to negotiate with free-agent right-hander Vicente Padilla. Zito, 28, could end up with a six-year, $102 million deal, a $17 million average that no team, including the Mets, likely would match.
Barry will suffer the same fate ARod did if he takes the money over the Mets. He's perfect for the National League and it's not Boras' fault if he signs there. I was in Texas during the summer and decided not to go to a game because it was so hot. Imagine how tough it is to play in that type of heat. And forget about any chance of winning a ring.
