Randy Johnson pitched as well for the Yankees an he has all year even if a slight cramp knocked him out. Gordon and Rivera cleaned up. If I were the Red Sox, I would pitch Tim Wakefield against the Yanks every game. Hell, doesn't a pitcher like him only get stronger when their arm gets tired?
Jason Giambi's lucky home run was it in the scoring department as the Yanks held on. Rivera was a little wild today and to me it looked like he was overthrowing the ball. He hit 96 mph on the gun and he rarely does. That said, have you ever seen him saw off a bat on a check swing like he did to Ortiz?
Now the Yanks still have hope in winning the division since they remain three games out, but guess who's coming to dinner now? Tampa "bleeping" Bay.
