I'll take it though. Jeter's home run wins his second game in a row as the Yanks managed to sqeak by after another bad performance by Leiter.
Jeter's earlier error opened up the door for Texas to take a 4-1 lead after two and a half innings, but Bernie's two run HR in the bottom of the third gave the Yanks a brief 5-4 lead. After Texas tied it in the top of the fifth on a Michael Young base hit, Jeter won it with the number fourteenth home run of the season, his patented opposide field job and the Yanks held on for the win.
With a tired Rivera and Gordon, Shawn Chacon was forced into the game and pitched a nice eight while Stutrze closed out the game with a 1-2-3 ninth to wrap up the win. Tanyon needed the save bad as he has morphed into his old "Devil Ray" self again.
