Is it possible that the Yanks had a come from behind win?
After going 0-30 in games they were trailing into the eight inning, the Yanks finally had the type of victory that we have grown to expect. The hero? Jason Giambi. That's right. I'm not dreaming. All game I was yelling at Joe to sit is butt down and he finally earned a smidgen of his cash with a dramtic walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth.
Kevin Brown deserves to be put in the :
Trash Can after another awful performance, leaving in the fifth with an injury.
It was like old times with Jorge Posada tying the game in the ninth with a two out double. A-Rod actually had a big two out hit also but made a bad base running mistake by getting thrown out at the plate after he ran past Sojo's sign at third base on the play.
Sturtze was terrible for the second time in a row, giving up lead-off hr's in the seventh and eight.
Mariano got the win (3-2) and lowered his era to a microscopic 1.09.
This is the type of win that can jump start the team. It doesn't matter who it came against at this point.
We need to feed off this win like the Vampire Lestat would drain the neck of the first person he saw after being sealed in a coffin for a few years and sweep this series heading into the Cubs.
