Open Thread: Game 39-Yanks beat Mariners 6-3

(Update)-Yanks extend the streak to nine in a row, as the Rookie Chien-Ming Wang pitched like a seasoned vet, and Bernie went BOOM hitting a grand slam to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 lead

At one point Wang retired 17 straight batters after a double by Raul Ibanez in the first. What makes him so effective is the late movement he has on his fast ball and the kid throws strikes period.

I didn't hear John Sterling, but I will on Mike and the Mad Dog tomorrow in anticipation of John's " Bernie goes boom." Williams is the quiet warrior. The team comes first, and he plays to win, but you know his pride had to hurt after the shake-up and his benching.
Does it surprise you that he would deliver?

"Rod" Cano continues to hit and field the ball well and looked just as solid in the two hole as he does at the bottom of the order. I can't remember a rookie outside of Soriano who after an 0-18 start looks so comfortable at the plate.

When have you ever seen a player draw an intentional walk with first base open this early in the season besides Barry Bonds? This is the second time already that Tino has been given that respect. If Matsui starts to hit, the rest of the league better watch out.
