ESPN reporting rumor - Washburn to Yanks?
Not sure how true or details, but ESPN is reporting on the ESPN News crawl line that the Mariners are working on a deal to send the Yankees Jarrod Washburn. No info as to who for.
Per Buster Olney:
"The Yankees continue to talk about Jarrod Washburn and they are likely to complete the deal in the next 48 hours. New York is willing to take Washburn and a lot of the $13 million-$14 million owed to the left-hander, but the deal would essentially be a salary dump, with the Mariners expected to make some sort of financial adjustment."

Also on the rumor page - Randy Winn and Benjie Molina deal(s) with the Giants in the works. Not sure if I put any stock in this - it may just be talks, it may be serious.
Thoughts? .

Sabathia in 09?
http://www.bugsandcranks.com/new-york-yankees/johan-who-lets-talk-about-cc
Just a nice little article which suggests our boys are in the driver's seat in the 09 "who gets Sabathia?" scramble.
Seriously, I really like this. Granted, it's a long season ahead and lots can happen, but this bodes well. The fact that we didn't sell off the future and overpay for Santana might hurt a little now, but next year we'll have the cash and room for Sabathia, who despite being a bit hefty, would be a great pickup - eats innings, stud pitcher.
Anyway, check out the article.
