Melky Planning An Appeal, Gardner Could Make Opening Day
Melky is not taking his surprise suspension lying down (h/t bronxgrl1 and NumberSeven):
WasWatching has an interesting article up.
1. Hits for a pretty decent batting average, and
2. Walks a lot, and
3. Is a good base-stealer.
Either way, I think Gardner needs to start the season on the bench as insurance. With Melky unavailable, the Yanks have no one able to play center.

lie/lay
lie means to recline
It's always misused because the simple past of lie is the simple present of lay. Both are lay.
Lay is lay laid laid
Lie is lie lay lain
it's the suckiest irregular verb there is.
