Shelley Duncan rules!

Great story this morning from the Boston Herald.  I'm quite sure Yankee management isn't thrilled about it, but my respect for Shelley Duncan just went through the roof.

i feel really bad for the kid, how traumatizing.

like he's never heard any of the thousands of red sox fans starting the "yankees suck" chant.

give me a break.

Not to mention.....
it was those classy fans from Red Sox nation who coined the acronym "MFY."

I'd like to know
how many times that kid actually has said "Yankees suck."  I'm sure quite a few.

I hope they turn this into a t-shirt
I would buy that in a minute. The only thing that would make this better is if he had done this to a kid at Children's Hospital in Boston.

gimme a break
I don't see how the Red Sox are good role models either--the Yankees are definitely more classy. The Red Sox whine and bitch, and so do their fans.

No way!
What better way to teach kids the importance of effort and hard work than by taking them to a game to watch JD Drew and Manny Ramirez?

Not as good
As abreu before fridays game. He walked over to the fence in RF acted as if he was going to give the ball to the Red Sox fan then threw it back in to Joba

I'll be damned.....
The ChiSox came back to beat the Angels on Thome's walkoff and 500th of his career.

The Tribe lost as well so they didn't lose any ground.

Big game for the Yanks tonight because a loss leaves DET just 1.5 back of the WC.

The Yankees!
The Yankees! by Robert Lord Keyes © Published: Spitball (1986) The Yankees are in spring training down in Florida. I can feel them everyday cracking their bats on anvils with each warmer sunrise. The Yankees pound quarters out of the moon. The Yankees knock birds out of trees by the millions. I can listen to them chewing up the college squads and minor leaguers like wolves on a deer. It is a thing to hear. The snow listens so hard it vanishes. The pastures clear themselves of everything but wind. The ponds collapse, the ground moves. The Yankees are heading north. The Yankees by Robert Lord Keyes © HOPE TO LIFT SOME SPIRITS HERE!!!

America's Team by MIchael Aubrecht
I believe that "America's Team" should come from a special place, a city where people come from all over the world to experience the American way of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They should be a competitive franchise with legendary players, championship titles and a logo that is recognized around the world as an American icon for winning. Finally, it should be a team that stays true to its roots, its city, and its fans. That's "America's Team". It sounds like a rhetorical question, right? Who is this great American team, from a great American city, that symbolizes our great American way? If they insist on labeling a sports franchise as "America's Team", then they need to get it right. It's such an easy answer... There is a team that represents all of the above, has a patriotic name, a red, white and blue logo and even shares its home with the Statue of Liberty. I agree that "America's Team" is a ridiculous title but it's almost too perfect of a fit for the only franchise that I believe is worthy of this honor: The New York Yankees.

I don't understand what's the problem...
I mean it's not like the Red Sox don't suck.

The kid is learning early ...
In today's PC environment where it's not nice to not place nice, or to disappoint Shelley Duncan actually did this little bastard a favor.

As a Sux fan living in the Boston area, his life is already twice cursed. Better he learn now that his life is going to add up to one big disappointment than later on. Shelley likely saved this kid thousands in psychology sessions.

Perhaps Shelley should have added, "Walk to the light of the pinstripes, where life is alittle better, alittle sunnier, alittle warmer."
