A-Rod now a children's author

Yankees.com:

NEW YORK -- Alex Rodriguez's trophy shelf already features two American League Most Valuable Player Awards and two Rawlings Gold Gloves. The Yankees third baseman can now add a pair of books for children.

Rodriguez will become an author for the second time when his new release, titled "Out of the Ballpark," hits stores Tuesday. Published by HarperCollins, the 32-page hardcover book is based on Rodriguez's childhood.

In a statement, Rodriguez said that the story draws from a lifelong passion for baseball.

"Working on the book has been an extremely rewarding experience for me," Rodriguez said, "especially now that I have a daughter [Natasha, 2] of my own and see how important children's books are in her life."

Illustrated by Frank Morrison, the book will also be released simultaneously in Spanish.

I'm sure the many A-Rod haters out there will find a way to rip the guy for this as well, but I say good for him.

Superstar athletes reaching out to children is never a bad thing and I wished more of them engaged in such activities.  A-Rod deserves credit for that.

"Out of the Ballpark" can be purchased via Amazon here.

No it's about choking
And failing to be there when your team needs you the most.

Thanks for the
link to amazon.  I'm really excited that he needs people to help with his retirement funds.
Great Success!

What?
You guys are a bunch of haters.  I am going to get the book for son so maybe he can get a 252 million dollar contract.

New Year, new view on A-Rod
Starting today I'm taking on a new view on A-Rod. This may be his last year with the Yanks and I'm going to try to enjoy it through his good and bad days.

This book is good idea. I know a lot people don't like hearing this side of things, but A-Rod is a sensitive guy. Writing this book hopefully let him work through some personal issues, and if that makes him more relaxed in field that's a good thing.

We've had one of the greatest players in the game on our team for the past few years, and I for one am done looking for all his faults.

I'm on the A-Rod bandwagon in 07. Until his next Golden Sombrero.

Sweet!
So I'm not the only one. Step 1 to being on the A-Rod Bandwagon: quit referring to him as A-Rod. It's tough, I know. I made that vow and have unintentionally broken it quite a few times.

First name basis now?
So what, you're gonna call him Alex?

Yeah. Why not?

I used to call him, "#13"
but that was back when I really hated having him on the Yankees.

I'll go with Alex.

I'll go with 6-4-3
...but only if there's men on base in a close game.

I'll go with "MVP"
'cause he'll likely lead the league in VORP again. Expect a bounce back to his pre 2006 numbers.

i think
...I think he'll settle in between his 2004 and 2005 numbers, meaning he'll still be one of the best players ever to play major league baseball.

Why are we
refering to him by a different name? Just curious.
Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and f*** the prom queen.

Something I decided last season
  1. A-Rod would be the dumbest nickname in the history of nicknames if not for all the variations that followed.
  2. A-Rod carries an enormously negative connotation in New York. It's almost a derogatory term at this point.

Fair enough I'm on board
Let's go Alex...

I'll call him anything he wants....
As long as he stops choking in the postseason.

He grows a pair on page 12!
Thankfully it wasn't illustrated!
