DSL Prospects: Worth Dreaming About?

DEEP MINING IN THE DSL

THERE ARE INTRIGUING YANKEE PROSPECTS IN THE DOMINICAN SUMMER LEAGUE

(Stats as of EOD 8/7/2014)

In the Dominican Summer League, the quality of competition might be comparable to high school baseball here in the States, so you have to take all these stats with a healthy dose of reality-salts. Also, the players range in age from 16 into their 20s, so comparable performance vs. comparable age is an important factor, which is why DSL birth certificates also need to be viewed with some suspicion.

Few DSL players ever graduate to play in the US at any level. Still, all the players have been professionally evaluated, selected and signed to professional contracts by professional baseball organizations, so standing out amongst this competition does mean something.

Here are 8 of the DSL Yankee prospects who just might be worth keeping an eye on.
