What does a Brett Gardner extension look like now?

I've gone back and read his comments about his extension last off season and he sounds like he knew he could get way more money if he waited until free agency. I don't think he thought he'd make Ellsbury money, but I do think he and his agent fairly assessed the market to be worth something more like 5 years/$75MM or something. But now? He's on pace for 22+ HR's, 75+ RBI's. I say plus, because who knows how long this hot streak will keep up.

So, lets say you're the Yankees and you're Gardner that off-season. Gardner probably decided a) the market could change and he could get screwed, b) to get all the money offered to him, he'd have to leave the Yankees, which he really did not want to do and c) he didn't realize he was worth THAT much per year, given his numbers, so he just jumped on it (I seriously doubt this scenario). The Yankees are thinking: a) We'll reward a guy we like for a price that might be a little high for his type of production, but we reality like him and we can afford it b) he makes it easier on our pocket books down the road by taking this modest offer.

But okay, so lets say the extension talks simply never happened. Gardner has this season he's having and hits free agency. What does Gardner feel he's worth after an elite season? What do the Yankees feel he's worth? What do other teams feel he's worth?

I know it's just a hypothetical. It's hard for me to gauge. I could not believe just how much Ellsbury got. I thought he'd get like, 4 years/$50MM or something. With Gardner I projected a 4 year/$44MM deal, honestly, so the real deal is pretty close to that. But after this season? I think he'd get offered 7 years/$143MM by the Yankees and he'd take it.
