The Yankees started their search for their 28th Title with a pop more than a bang as their failure to score seemed to fly in the face of the talk of big hitters. But they have put in a vital performance to win their second series and set them up for their home opening series against Baltimore.
Obviously I can't go into too much about the match. I don't want the copyright police doing a full on SWAT assault on my sleepy house in England. But what I will say is that the Yankees have a lot to work on, to give up so big a lead to leave the door open to Toronto to poach the win. But thankfully the new closer did the job. It was strange to see anyone other than Mo there. But great stuff to see the Yankees win and to hear that old familiar "the Yankees win thhhhheee Yankees Win.
Here's hoping we can celebrate the Core Four with a winning opening home series in the Bronx. It is the least they deserve.
