Best way to celebrate the 1977 Yankees Championship

For baseball fans, the best memories of the 1977 Yankees are Mr. October’s three homers in Game 6 of the World Series. Amidst swirling tension and one of the most emotionally trying times in New York City history, the Yankees were able to overcome the turmoil by riding the fiery passion of manager Billy Martin, great hitting from Reggie Jackson and Thurman Munson, and unbound scrappiness from Sweet Lou and Bucky Dent. This combustible mix brought them "Back on Top" while keeping them on the back pages in the Big Apple.  To celebrate that historic season, Topps has mined its archives to create a limited edition collection box filled with items that all true Yankees fans must have.

"Extensive research went into crafting each collection," said Michael Bramlage, Vice President and General Manager at Topps. "With over 75 years of MLB history—from one-of-a-kind photography to iconic graphic design—stored in the Topps Archives, each collection feels like an authentic time capsule from your favorite team’s most memorable year."   The Topps Archives Collection, Series 1 pays tribute to superstars and unsung heroes alike, capturing players in their heyday, just as fans remember them.

Each collection box contains the following items:

•       1 Wax Pack Poster Set (5 posters)

•       6 Team Patches

•       6 Team Buttons

•       1 Team Pennant

•       1 Team T-shirt

•       1 Team Hat

"Collectability is part of our DNA," said Bramlage. "We were inspired by sneakerhead culture and sought to create a line of limited edition products that could not only be collected, but also worn and shown off as a fashion statement."

Our favorite memory about the ’77 team was watching Billy Martin arguing with Reggie in the dugout.  We want to hear from you about your favorite memory in the comments section or on facebook.com/ToppsShop or @ToppsShop
