If you've been a Yankee fan of at least the past five seasons, you've seen a lot of shaking up and phasing out of some memorable and historic careers. After such a historic franchise run, we've finally come to a day and age where the playing days of the Posadas, Pettittes, Riveras and now Jeters of the world will all soon be referred to as past tense. On top of all that, a very talented player who some of us thought was leading the team into the "Post Core 4 Era" is now a memory as well.
Which has me wondering. I look over at say the Baltimore Orioles for example. It's pretty understood that their team is centered around a high performing offense, pitching questions and all. (Machado, Davis,Jones) I for one, am excited and skeptical at the same time for some of the Bombers new additions, but do feel the team has improved at a very high cost. We all seek a future and stability for who we root for at some point, and an everyday nucleus provides that. So who is it to you? Is it even necessary to have one? After Jeter leaves, who's the face or faces of the organization? Who gets the torch?
