The Consummate...Anti-Yankee?

In my time as a Yankees fan, I have heard various talking heads on sports networks talk about someone being a "True Yankee." This is said most often about Captain Jeter, but has been brought up in reference to countless others. Back when Alex Rodriguez was still smacking home runs at the Old Yankee Stadium (and before this current dumpster fire), many wondered if he was a "True Yankee." Reggie Jackson fielded the same questions while Thurman Munson (R.I.P.) held that title. In terms of current players, I feel as if Robinson Cano and Joba Chamberlain are on their way to "True Yankee" status someday.

With all that said, I come to you with a question: past or present, who do you feel is the most anti-Yankee player ever? Your criteria can be based on a wide spectrum. Does he happen to be the most "Red Soxian" player ever? Known for his foolish antics which the Steinbrenner family would never tolerate? It could even be a guy you never want to see wearing Pinstripes. I'm really intrigued by what you guys come up with.

My number one is David Ortiz. My number two is the player who wears #34 for the Red Sox. My number three is that person who plays DH for our archrival. Number four would probably be Manny Ramirez while Ortiz comes back and takes the number five spot. Of course, I am a sophomore in college and have been watching this game for only about ten or eleven years, so there are a lot of players about whom I may not even know that fit this bill.

Yankee Country, who do YOU feel is the most Anti-Yankee of all time?

Until next time...

Go Yankees!
