Internal options the Yankees need to try

Everybody is aware that the trade deadline is approaching rapidly. The word coming out is that San Diego does not want anything the Yankees have to offer for Chase Headley. (Their mistake?) Philadelphia is more worried about attendance and making money than improving their future. (Funny, they should go hand in hand?) So no Chase Utley or Michael Young? That definitely removes some top trade candidates the Yankees need or wanted.

No word on a trade for Kendrys Morales or Michael Morse, potential is there for Seattle to make a trade. (They just cannot make up their mind on who they want to try and resign of these two?) Trading with Cleveland for Asdrubal Cabrera and or Carlos Santana makes a lot of sense for both parties. (Do the Yankees have enough pitching talent to entice them?) Current rumors about Justin Morneau seem to be going nowhere fast. Minnesota does not want or need what the Yankees are offering. (Why? Has to be posturing) Besides that, he is a left-handed hitter. We need a right handed hitting option.

INTERNAL OPTIONS:

JR Murphy continues to hit at all levels. His defense is ever improving. Has in fact, throw out 28% of the would be stolen base attempts at AAA. In 106 plate appearances at triple A, he has a .309 batting average, .377 on base percentage and a .479 slugging percentage (.309/.377/.479). Wow, could the Yankees ever use this type of production. Do not forget he has experience at 3B in the minor leagues. Sorry, Austin Romine but time to see what this 22 year old can do in the big leagues. More of a need now that ever. Since, Francisco Cervelli has had his set back during rehab.

Ronnier Mustelier is about to come off of disable list. His versatility is a needed option in the Bronx. He has played 3B, 2B, RF, CF and LF. With his flexibility he should be able to play first base also. In 128 triple A games, he has maintained a .296 batting average, .347 on base percentage, and .440 slugging percentage(.296/.347/.440). He has to be an improvement over Alberto Gonzalez or Luis Cruz. Simply put, time to see what he can do before Alex Rodriguez and or Curtis Granderson return to the Yankees.

Brian Cashman please get these two on the roster when we resume play, after the All Star break.

Hell they can't be any worse than what we have already have on the roster?
