After undergoing hip surgery to repair labrum damage this spring, the Yankees' 2012 first-rounder, Ty Hensley, won't return in 2013. Vice President of Baseball Operations Mark Newman told Chad Jennings of LoHud that Hensley's return would most likely be Spring Training of next year.
Hensley's career as a Yankee has been pretty adventurous so far, after his initial physical showed an asymptomatic shoulder abnormality that cost Hensley some of his signing bonus. Still, people who are paid to analyze the draft say that Hensley has the ability to make a lot of teams look silly for letting him fall all the way to the Yankees; and hopefully he can get healthy and get back on the mound for 2014.
