Getting ready for the amateur draft: Here is a primer about the MLB amateur draft that tells you all about when it is, the basics, the new rules concerning free agent compensation, the competitive balance picks, and the 2013 selection order. If you've forgotten some things or you're just getting into the draft for the first time this is a nice review of everything you need to know.

Consensus mock draft list: With a multitude of mock drafts around the internet it's hard to know which players truly rank where. Hopefully by combining Jim Callis', Keith Law's, Minor League Ball's, MLB's, and Sports Illustrated's mock drafts together we can see a consensus of which prospects rank where. The consensus draft has the Yankees drafting Jon Denney, Rob Kaminsky and catcher Dustin Peterson in the first round.

Mock draft: If you're looking for another mock draft, has a second draft for you. They have the Yankees taking Rob Kaminsky 26th overall, CF Billy McKinney 32nd, and RHP Jonathan Crawford 33rd.

2013 BA 500: Baseball America ranks the top 500 prospects in this year's draft. left-hander Rob Kaminsky, catcher Jon Denney, and shortstop Tim Anderson, who have all been connected with the Yankees in multiple mock drafts, are ranked between 21-26, falling in line with the Yankees' 26th overall pick.

Draft notes: Michael Eder from It's About the Money offers some commentary on potential Yankee draft picks like Kaminsky, LHP, and injury risk, Sean Manaea, the overall best catcher in the draft, Reese McGuire, and others.

International Draft

Nine questions MLB must address: If there is going to be an international draft, MLB is going to have to answer a lot of lingering questions about how it will work. Which countries will be included? How will the slotting system work? Can you trade draft picks?

International draft raises job security concerns among scouts: An international draft could lead to less players coming out of foreign countries and might even lead to scouts losing their jobs as it becomes easier to discover new talent. This is an interesting look into how the scouting process works and how local evaluators come into play.
