There seems to be a lot of rain in the forecast tonight, so we'll have to wait and see if there will be baseball tonight.
Are the Yankees set up to have a very ugly game tonight? In the last week Robinson Cano is hitting .238/.385/.238 and Vernon Wells might be crashing down to earth with a .115/.115/.154 line. Travis Hafner won't be getting into the game, despite being the team's best hitter over the last week. Reis Brignac is also still looking for his first hit as a Yankee. It seems the Yankees' offense is being set up to fail here.
Francisco Cervelli will be reporting to Tampa this weekend and will start throwing in a week in hopes of returning to the Yankees in three weeks time. That's good to hear, considering Austin Romine is hitting .108/.132/.162 in 39 plate appearances and Chris Stewart has been struggling with a groin injury for the last week. Cervelli was hitting .269/.377/.500 before breaking his hand. If he can continue to provide something close to that line he will be a much needed boost to the Yankees' below average offense. Who ever thought that would happen?
