2013 AL Projections

With Pitchers and Catchers reporting for duty at their respective camps, its time to look at each division and project division winners and wild card winners.

Lets start with the AL East:

y- NY Yankees 97 65 .598 -
w- Tampa Bay 90 72 .556 7.0
Toronto 86 76 .530 11.0
Baltimore
85 77 .524 12.0
Boston 76 86 .469 21.0

I do not see the 95 win Yankee team from last season losing their grip on first. I actually believe they will win 97 because they will have Andy and Mo this season. Also a healthy Tex combined with a contract year Cano will result in a killer 3-4 punch.

Next Lets move to the AL Central.

y-Detroit 91 71 .562 -
Kansas City
84 78 .518 7.0
Chi White Sox 81 81 .500 10.0
Cleveland 80 82 .494 11.0
Minnesota 78 84 .481 13.0

Detroit will continue its dominance of the AL Central and yet again win the Division. But the real story will be the Royals who will Finish in 2nd and show the AL that they are a team to respect.

Next lets look at the AL West.

y-LA Angels 94 68
.580 -
w-Oakland 87 75 .537 7.0
Seattle 81 81 .500 13.0
Texas 80 82 .494 14.0
Houston 43
119
.265
51.0

The Angels will put it together and win the division after a disappointing showing last year. I don't know what will be a bigger shocker; the Rangers under .500 or the Astros losing 119 games. Seattle is one season away from being legitimate contenders.
