Just got threw reading the Brian Kenny's solution to fixing the Yankees. Everything from attendance and how to secure a World Series tittle. Dam good thing we play those games or us fans would have nothing to do.
I realize opinions are like rectums (being politically correct here, also just read the rules of this sight) and everyone has one. We all have that person who makes your skin crawl. You know the person, that arrogant, know-it-all, SOB. Or that teenager, the saying says it best: "Hire that teenager while he still knows everything". They have a solution to anything.
I read and listen to all of this saber-metrics and of course believe in a lot of it. I have been involved in statistical analysis since 1978. Did the due diligence and became a CQE (Certified Quality Engineer). Even was fortunate to spend some time with the man who invented it or at least proved it worked. That man W. Edwards Deming is given credit for turning around the overall quality of a nation, Japan. So renowned, was this man that the top Quality Prize in Japan is called the Deming Prize. Believe me statistical analysis is a tedious job. I have dealt with those so called believers, who jumped on the bandwagon but could not even tell you what a bell curve is. Brian Kenny reminds me of those guys.
Recently, Joel Sherman took exception with Brian's remark about Robinson Cano increase in walk rate. He call Kenny on this, stating that he disagreed. Reason why was obvious. Cano had no protection. Therefore he was pitched around and walked intentionally, more. Brian being the arrogant man he is. Took exception and even had addition stats displayed after a commercial break. Really Brian, can anyone not have their own opinion? Joel you were and are right.
So when I read his tweets to improve the Yankees I cringed. But then again I cringe every time he opens his mouth.
So do us or at least me a favor, MLB network, and silence this man.
