David Phelps will make the second start of his Major League career. In his first start, Phelps lasted only four innings while needing 85 pitches. However, he struck out five, did not walk a batter, and induced nine groundballs. We'll have to keep an eye on Phelps' ability to keep the ball in the park, as he's already allowed five homers in just under 22 innings pitched.
For the Rays, Jeff Niemann will make his sixth start of the year. He has a 4.05 ERA, but a very solid 3.41 FIP. Niemann will mostly work in the low 90s while mixing in four-seamers, two-seamers, and cutters. He also throws a changeup, a slider, and a curveball. Niemann mixes his pitches well, with each pitch thrown at least 10% of the time.
