Yankees/MLB Hot Stove Report: Bill Hall is a Yankee and the Orioles Make a Trade
Bill Hall, who has played every position in the big leagues outside of catcher, has a Spring Training invite and minor league deal with the Yankees. If he makes the ML team, he'll get $600K with incentives to follow based on PA.
- The Orioles traded RHP Jeremy Guthrie to the Rockies for RHPs Jason Hammel and Matt Lindstrom. Guthrie was once a highly-touted prospect, having been selected 22nd overall by the Indians in 2002.
- Speaking of the O's, the Korean Baseball Organization protested Baltimore's signing of Korean teenage pitcher, Kim Seong-min.
- Madonna will play Yankee Stadium on Sept. 6th. There's an A-Rod joke in there somewhere.
- Hong-Chih Kuo, the hard-throwing LHP with injury problems, signed with the Mariners for $500K with potentially a bunch more in incentives.
- Ken Rosenthal says Brian Cashman's scandal should have no bearing on his job.
- THT examined the correlation between payroll and wins.
- A class-action lawsuit has been brought against Royals legend George Brett for advertising jewelry that supposedly "improved health and sports performance."

According to Andrew Marchand of ESPNNewYork.com, the addition of Bill Hall will not have an impact on the Yankees’ pursuit of Eric Chavez.
So, there’s that…

I'm not giving it two A-pluses
Though Scooby Snacks gets credit for resurrecting it.

Two A pluses would just be a bit extreme

Kershaw 2/19
Kershaw led the National League in ERA and strikeouts last season (and wins, for those of you reading this on a Commodore 64),

Good deal for both sides. LA displays commitment. Kershaw gets security and won’t face an arb panel.

Not really
He’s first-time arbitration eligible. The Dodgers submitted $6.5M and Kershaw wants $10M.
If you include the $500K signing bonus to his 2012 $7.5M salary, it’s $250K short of the halfway point of those two figures exchanged.

Why is Jesus still pictured on the Yankee website in the Top Yankee Prospect article
Are they trying to rub it in?
Try having to research Michael Pineda. Jesus pictures everywhere.

Surprised the Yankees weren't more involved with Kuo
I mean unless it wanted to stay out west only, the Yankees think they need a LHer and Kuo’s pretty dominant when he’s healthy. And for only $500K?
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
As a rule, I try to stick to baseball comments.
But I feel compelled to say that Madonna’s Superbowl performance was the longest 12 minutes of my life. I couldn’t survive two hours of it, even in Yankee Stadium.
