Ok, on to Spring Training
So, it seems AJ will be a Pirate. I wish the Pirates and AJ both well. AJ was basically a bad signing for the Yanks. He is however a good guy. He was a great supporter for his team mates. I'll miss the pie.
That said, I'm glad the trade is done and anxious to get on with Spring Training
If our guys are healthy we have a heck of a pitching staff. I'll be interested to see who emerges as the 5. I've read a lot of stuff about 4 places being taken and Hughes and Garcia fighting for the fifth spot. I want to wait and see. It would be great if everyone is healthy and effective, but I doubt that will be the case.
Regarding our hunt for a lefthanded bat, I hope we only sign someone who can take a glove out on the field without giving me indigestion. I do not think we need someone who cuts into Brett G.'s playing time.
I read about the hunt for a bat but IF I HAD CASH'S JOB, I'd be looking for left handed pitching. Think about how many of the Yanks past greats have been leftys. The stadium favors left handedness. Often what I think is what Cashman does. I really do not expect any more big news, so I'm ready for green grass and the crack of ash on horsehide. (Do they still use that stuff?)

Free Agent Relievers are a crapshoot.
I’d be okay with bringing like a Mike Gonzalez in but only for like a non-guaranteed deal. I feel like Cash should have learned his lesson from doling out contracts to relievers over the years (see: Feliciano, Marte, Farnsworth, et. al) but what do I know?

I'm not sure the new stadium
favors lefties enough to think about left-right. I think about quality. I want a WHIP of 1.2 or less, a 50% GB%, 3:1 K:BB, and 200+ innings.
I’d only worry about lefty v. righty if New Yankee Stadium looked like this:

Wow
How old is that picture? I did not look at the Homer numbers to left vs right. I just feel it’s a lot easier to right.
I didn’t mean to ask for FA relief pitchers. I more thinking trades and prospects, both for rotation and pen.
