Appreciating What We Have

I am both a Yankees fan and a Buffalo Bills fan. For those of you who are aware of football (everyone), it is obvious that I watch sports from two completely different viewpoints. On one hand, I am a humongous Yankees fan and am treated to annual playoff appearences and constant big moves to improve the team. On the other hand, I am just as big a Bills fan, and have been stuck with 12 seasons with no playoff appearances.

This post is not to complain about yet another playoff-less season for the Bills. The title of this piece, and the fact that this is a Yankees blog, make that obvious. This post is to reflect on how amazing it is, year after year, to be able to smile after another disappointing season of football at the thought of being able to watch my beloved Yankees again. This post is to enjoy the fact that this years team could be even better than last years. And this post is to relish the fact that we'll have yet another new shiny toy this year. So tell me, what do you most look forward to this season?

I feel overbalanced

because in addition to the Yanks and the Bills, I root for the Knicks.

She’d also probably have dated Joba Chamberlain in ’07 and Kevin Maas in ’90.

Voted for #3, thought about #1.
  1. sums up all of the things we anticipate seeing- Pineda and Kuroda turning into great moves, Jeter (more likely than ARod) having a big year, Cano and Granderson having back to back monster years, Gardner finally hitting .290 and stealing 60, David Robertson pitching 70 innings, striking out 125, etc

That’s what being a fan is about. Also having it all blow up in your face and looking for scapegoats.
