true yankee
stayed with yanks for entire career, didn’t want to play for anyone else
Didn’t want to play for anyone else, or no one else wanted a 40 year old platoon DH? I’m betting it’s more of the latter than the former.

Probably
But we’ll never know, so I’m just going to assume it’s that he didn’t want to play for anyone else because it’s a better ending. Sort of.
I'll do whatever it takes to win games, whether it's sitting on a bench waving a towel, handing a cup of water to a teammate, or hitting the game-winning shot.- Kobe Bryant

If he could play and make the money he feels he deserves, he would play. You can’t be naive enough not to know that’s true. He’s not going to just willingly give up the chance to continue making lots of money.

he could have gotten a minor league deal somewhere
He took a higher path, but you’re absolutely right.
That kind of goes along with the whole “what he feels he deserves” thing. If someone had offered him a full time DH role or even a catching role, I have no trouble believing he would have taken it. His realistic offers would have been for minimal money and most likely partial playing time. I don’t blame him for not wanting to do that, but I’m not going to sit here and pretend it had everything to do with his loyalty to the Yankees.

hahah yeah me neither
but i’m just glad he was able to see that his career was over, Yankee related or not. I would rather not see him whore himself out trying to live the life for another year or so while continuing to fall further and further from what he once was.
His hips didn't lie!

Instead of questioning Jorge's loyalty to the Yankees..
…lets just appreciate one of the best Yankee catchers of all time. I doubt we will ever see a group of players(Jorge,Jeter,Mo) that stay together for this long in any sport ever again.
Should you choose to test my resolve in this matter, you will be facing a finality beyond your comprehension, and you will not be counting days, or months, or years, but milleniums in a place with no doors.
Thank God!
Good to see he did the right thing.
And then there were two………

Optimism, pessimism, F*CK THAT; we're gonna make it happen. As God as my bloody witness, I'm hell-bent on making it work.
