It’s not that funny. And Sheldon is a really unpleasant character. I know that’s supposed to be part of the joke, but he’s so annoying that he’s irredeemable. And the other character aren’t that much better.

I completely agree with this. It seems funny enough, but there are so many things wrong with it that go completely unnoticed. Sheldon sounded like an AWFUL person.
You have to see the first season to find him endearing, I guess
He’s maddening but you like him anyway, like most good characters. It’s not a classic by any means, but it’s a fun enough show to watch most of the time.

It’s weird because when he’s doing well, everybody praises him for his cool, but when he has one bad game, people get pissed off because he was a #1 draft pick and they expect better so they call him a choker. I think the SB42 ring helped ward off most of those people, but they started to emerge again after the 2010-11 season. This year has helped that, Super Bowl win or not.

His O-line did him few favors yesterday, but damned if he didn’t just keep picking himself up and making plays.
The aggravating thing is that now his detractors will say they Giants were expected to win both of those tough road playoff games, and as soon as Eli loses or has a bad game, out will come the naysayers. Never mind that the only reason they were ‘expected’ to win was because Eli has the most road playoff victories in the HISTORY of the NFL.
