Deadspin: Yankees GM Brian Cashman Possibly Caught In Messy Extramarital Affair
This just popped up in my feed reader...
Yesterday, Deadspin contacted Cashman about the 2009 affair allegations and the private investigations surrounding it, and he reluctantly gave a "no comment." This evening, at approximately 6:30, we followed up and offered to show him some of the photos. He accepted. We've been told by sources that he has already frantically contacted the woman (with whom he's apparently still involved) and is now in full-on damage control mode. We are awaiting his full comment and will tell you more about this sordid tale of love and betrayal beneath the Tampa sun tomorrow.
This is the last distraction the team needs heading into the post season...

Cashman’s impact is limited to the offseason and paycheck signings. He’s not in the dugout. It won’t be a problem.

Lol, I've never seen Cashman with hair that long.
The profile looks like him but I’ll wait til shit hits the fan.
Two thoughts
1) The report is true. When someone asks you if you are having an extramarital affair, your response if you’re innocent isn’t “no comment”. It’s “fuck you” or, if you’re a public figure, “see you in court”. See also: Weiner, Anthony.
2) Unless it’s the wife of a player or other essential personnel, who cares? It won’t affect the on field product.
Public figures are taught to say, "No comment" until they have a chance to speak to their lawyers...
It doesn’t implicate them in any way. They just want all the facts before they make a public statement, so that their words by themselves don’t cause damage.
For example, if Cashman was in fact having extramarital affairs with a woman, but not the woman in this case, a woman that has not come forward, then Cashman would want to say “no comment” before he’s sure that the case being discussed is his. Otherwise, he could say something that possibly implicates him and when a public figure does that, and the media finds out, there’s no turning back.

Messy extramarital affairs are the only kind.
Like ‘meaningless exhibition games.’ Or ‘hapless Mets.’ Bill Belichick’s messy extramarital affair doesn’t seem to have effected the Patriots nearly as much as their messy defense. Same goes here, except substitute ‘pitching rotation’ for defense.
