Romo has nine fourth quarter comebacks and 10 game-winning drives since becoming the full-time starter in 2006. He also has thrown 34 fourth quarter touchdowns, tied for third among NFL quarterbacks since 2006.
I like this "choking" thing Romo does.
Um, Red Sox Suck. The End.
Should you choose to test my resolve in this matter, you will be facing a finality beyond your comprehension, and you will not be counting days, or months, or years, but milleniums in a place with no doors.

maybe not always on the field, but always in their hearts and minds, they suck. of all the red sox, i actually dont mind youk or papi. of all of them they arent grossly overrated, ESPN isnt calling to give them their second BS MVP in their career. i actually dont hate most of their players, its the fans i cant stand. well along with ESPN trying to tell me how amazing they are when i just dont see it.

I hate the Red Sox, and I thoroughly enjoy their anguish when they struggle.

Yankee fans distaste for the Red Sox is greatly exceeded by their obsession with the Evil Empire.
Believe me, I live amongst them. They will never feel sorry for us, so don’t pity them. If the Sox miss the playoffs, their collective consciousness will be unleashed on the Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics (if they play this year) in that order. But they live and die with the Red Sox, and they are consumed by the Yankees.
Also, don’t count on them to sudenly get hot. They are hurtin’ right now, in the physical sense. They are far more banged up than the Yankees. I don’t know if the Rays or Angels (look at the standings closely) can make up 4 games, but it’s not beyond the realm of possibility.

Few things are better in life than the Red Sox losing, and losing repeatedly.
I also happen to think that the Red Sox suck while being perfectly sober.

I don’t get what’s so awful about this post.

Nothing is wrong with it. CBeck is entitled to his feelings, misplaced as they are.

Ok, I'll bite.
The first part is extremely sanctimonious, which is always lame, and the second part doesn’t make a lot of sense. The Red Sox losing now has nothing to do with how they will play when they stop losing, if they do. They are banged up, their rotation is a mess, and key parts of the team are coming back down to Earth after playing above their heads most of the season. Any team that is hot come playoff time will be dangerous, as that’s the key to winning in general. Maybe the Red Sox will get healthy, figure out their disaster of a rotation, and their players will start being statistically lucky again, or maybe they won’t, or maybe they just start playing like the good team they are again. I don’t think any of those scenarios are based off of them not winning right now.

Hm
I’m not agreeing with him, but this is a lot better than the random posts we get around here. Think it deserves better than some of the comments, but that’s just what I think.
Also, I agree with his point that the Red Sox do not technically suck. I don’t know what they do in their free time, but on the field they are still one of the best teams in baseball, as much as I hate them. It’s fun to say, but if we’re being completely serious, they do not.

I don't think anyone doesn't know that they are a good team, it's a friggin expression.
I think it’s lame to ride in on a high horse and say “this is an incorrect use of a common expression, drunk people do this and it’s stupid, hating this team is dumb”. I would be willing to bet that people are responding the way they are because of the tone of vast superiority that this post is dripping with. Just my opinion.

I know, but there are some people out there that truly think they do suck, just making sure everyone’s on the same page here.
I guess I see what you’re saying, but then I think it’s easier to just say that.

It's a universal use of the expression, though.
I really don’t like this team, so they suck. Do the Yankees suck? No, they are a good team, but no matter what stadium you go to, someone there is chanting that, even if the Yankees are winning by 10. I don’t think anyone is confusing the Yankees for the Astros or anything. If a team is truly bad, no one cares enough to chant things about them. I think it’s taking it way too literally to break it down any further than that.

Tampa just crushed the Sawx last night. The stands were empty by the 8th inning.
I checked myself for Sox Pity. The meter still read ‘zero.’
JeterDo is exactly right about the state of the Bostons right now. The reason I can’t find pity is simply that their fans are so insufferable when things are going well, and they deserted the team last night like the proverbial rats off the sinking ship.
Just a month ago the same fans were talking about how they match up against the Phillies. Breezing through the playoffs was taken for granted.
As Dick Vitale would say (if he knew the word) “Schadenfreude, Baby!”

Is there something wrong with Pedroia
I have that MLB Ex inning thing that let me watch every games. I always check on the RS to see if they are losing. Everytime I swap over Dustin is up to Bat and he he does this Face thing. It’s really goofy looking. At first i just was thinking he was just getting really for an at bat. Like tapping the plate but they showed him in the dugout doing the same thing the other night over and over again. Is it like a twitch or a problem? I know he can’t sit still in the field and he jumps everytime the pitch is about to be throwed. ( thats like Dumb in my opinion and if the four letter talks about it again im going to smash my TV) Is it a form of ADD or Tourettes? I was just wondering if anyone seen it before?

Backed 100%
I have no hostility whatsoever towards the Red Sox, or any team for that matter. I’ve never understood “hating” any team, think it’s ridiculous and am frankly slightly embarrassed when I read/hear hateful silly comments from an otherwise intelligent, well-intentioned baseball fan.
*the above comment does not apply to Carl Everett, whom I dislike based on one single plate appearance

I didn't say anything about their fans. I'm confident the number of mind numbingly
stupid Yankees and Red Sox fans are near equal though.

The hatred Red Sox fans have for the Yankees far exceeds what even the drunkest most ignorant Yankee supporter feels for Boston.
As I said in another comment today on another post, today’s Providence Journal has an article about Red Sox fans preferring to see their team miss the playoffs than having to root for the Yankees.
