Good for him

He needs to get the walks down a little bit, but the strikeout numbers clearly show that he has nasty stuff. I could see him making a debut for the Yankees at some point in the middle of next year if the Yankees are in need of a starter. That’s assuming that he isn’t traded.

Hmm

Not sure what to expect, but those numbers are anything but exceptional.

I bet it's good to be playing again, huh?

4.7 BB/9? 1.34 WHIP? Yeah, K rate is good but with all those walks all he’s doing is elevating his pitch counts. No, not exceptional.

I bet it's good to be playing again, huh?

Gio Gonzalez had a 5 bb/9 in AAA when he got called up to the majors

4.1 BB/9 in his time in the minors and a 1.26+ WHIP
While Hughes had a 2.2 BB/9 and a WHIP under 1 in his minor league years…
and look how that has worked out

in other words…who cares. Lets see how he does in AAA

I have no problem with the promotion

Hell, I’d give him a September call up. All I said was those numbers are anything but “exceptional”. They’re not. That’s a fact.

I bet it's good to be playing again, huh?
