Yankees Demote Brian Gordon to AAA

Brian Gordon has been demoted to AAA to make room for Bartolo Colon.

Yesterday there were reports that Noesi would be demoted to AAA so he could stretch out to be a starter again. With those being wrong, does Noesi get demoted when Hughes comes back, or does Nova? Neither?

Either way, in hindsight Gordon may have been better off staying with the Phillies, or signing with one of the other teams that was courting him, such as the A's, or Rangers.

While Gordon did get two starts with the Yankees, it looks like he won't be getting any more, at least not for a while.

Whoops.

Unless you're a pitcher or Gustavo Molina, kindly SWING THE BAT and ignore the Binder's bunt signal.

I love this.

Our team is choosing the more talent pitcher over the journeyman. Now its up to Girardi. He needs to make sure that he continues to frequently use Noesi. Make Noesi the 7th inning guy, not a guy that pitches garbage innings. I guessing that the only reason that some are against Noesi being up here in the pen is because of his infrequent use. As long as Girardi pitches him more often I am happy they have Noesi up here in the pen.

I'd rather Noesi be starting in AAA.

He has the potential to be a mid-roation starter and he threw 160 innings last year. This year he’s thrown like…20. That is not what’s up.

Noesi will be in AAA soon

Noesi seems like he’ll be the odd man out when Hughes comes back. I just wonder who will be out of the rotation since nobody has done anything to lose their spot. I wouldn’t mind seeing Cashman try to trade Garcia, since it seems like he’s the most likely to not keep up his current pace.

In other words, give him the Joba treatment.

Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

They should have started Gordon @ Mets.

Why make Husky Boy Colon bat in his first game after an injury?

You never know what your history is going to be like until long after you're gone.

Starting Colon with the injury risk tells you what they think of Gordon.

Or that they said "Who needs a minor league assignment when we could just face the Mets"?

Can't believe no teams are interested in trading with the Yanks with the surplus of pitching.

How do all these pitchers escape waivers with the Yankees signing them?

Hard to believe that no other teams have any interest in the retreads the Yanks pick up.
